Bennett's Pond State Park

Once part of the expansive estate of Louis D. Conley, a prominent manufacturer and nurseryman, Bennett's Pond State Park encompasses 460 acres of the original 1,500-acre property. Conley's estate was renowned for its extensive gardens and innovative agricultural practices. In the latter half of the 20th century, the land was acquired by the state to preserve its natural beauty and provide recreational opportunities for the public. Today, the park is part of a larger network of over 1,800 acres of contiguous open space in Ridgefield and Danbury, offering a sanctuary for wildlife and a retreat for nature enthusiasts.
