Located near Ellis, Kansas, Cedar Bluff State Park spans 850 acres along the shores of Cedar Bluff Reservoir, offering a diverse range of outdoor activities. With approximately 14 miles of trails, the park caters to hikers, bikers, and nature enthusiasts of all skill levels. The Bluffton Area is the most developed, featuring amenities such as utility campsites, modern cabins, boat ramps, and a swimming beach. The Page Creek Area offers a more primitive camping experience, with large shade trees and sandy shorelines. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, hiking, and wildlife viewing, all while taking in the stunning views from the 150-foot-high limestone bluffs that overlook the reservoir.

History

Established in 1962, Cedar Bluff State Park was developed to provide outdoor recreational facilities and activities in central Kansas. The park encompasses two distinct areas along the shores of the 6,800-acre Cedar Bluff Reservoir: the Bluffton Area on the north shore and the Page Creek Area on the south shore. The reservoir itself was completed in 1951, primarily for flood control and irrigation, and has since become a popular destination for recreation. The park's proximity to historic sites, such as Threshing Machine Canyon, adds to its cultural significance, offering visitors a glimpse into the area's storied past.
