History

Established in 1935 as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) program during the Great Depression, F.D. Roosevelt State Park holds a unique place in American conservation history. The park was named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who frequently visited the nearby warm springs for polio treatment.
