History

Anderson Lake State Park's history is steeped in the legacy of early settlers and land conservation. The land was originally owned by William F. Anderson, who purchased it in 1947 for cattle grazing. Strangely enough, the lake wasn't named after him but instead honors Amanda Anderson, a previous owner whose family name has been linked to the area for generations. The park officially became part of Washington's state park system in the mid-20th century, preserving its lush forests and serene lake for public enjoyment. Over the years, it has grown into a haven for wildlife and a favorite retreat for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders.
